I work with women, men, youth, couples and families. I practice from a comfortable room in Masterton and via online video calls, and parents with young children have the option of home visits.
You may feel anxious coming along for the first time but people generally feel that it is a relief to share their story with someone who is qualified to respond to life struggles, who listens attentively and with no judgment.
When we meet, I welcome you to express your hopes and expectations for counselling, but don’t worry if you do not know what you your goals are, we will explore this together.
My role is to make sure you feel safe, supported and comfortable to talk freely and to ensure that we move the conversation along at a pace that works for you.
Each session is confidential and lasts 50-60 minutes.
My areas of work include:
- Depression/feeling down
- Self-doubt and confidence
- Parenting – responding to the changes that come with the parenting role, and practical parenting strategies
- Relationship challenges
- Family and sexual violence
- Grief and loss
- Sexual identity
- Alcohol and drug use
- School related issues
